The Booking Shortcut tool on your Dashboard allows you to create a direct link to your schedule filtered by Staff, Service, Location, or a combination of those, making it easier for your clients to schedule a specific type of appointment.
When to use a booking shortcut
You can use booking shortcuts to direct your clients to a part of your booking process, skipping some of the standard steps in the booking process.
- Create a booking shortcut with your staff name and location and include the link in your email signature. Your clients will be able to book an appointment directly with you, without having to select a location or a staff member. They will only have to choose a service that you offer, and a time that works for both of you to meet.
- Create a booking shortcut with a service, location, and your staff name if you’re sending out a targeted marketing campaign email. If you are introducing a new or seasonal service, and want to encourage your clients to book some time to discuss the details with you, clients who click this link will simply have to select a time. The service, location pick, and staff pick options will be skipped.
Services, staff, and locations can be marked as “private” when they are being set up. The only way for a client to book these types of appointments is if they are given a booking shortcut.
Staff with all permission levels can create a Booking Shortcut for themselves. Staff advance, manager, and administrators can create Booking Shortcuts for themselves and their colleagues.
You will find the Booking Shortcuts menu on the Dashboard screen of your Coconut Calendar staff view.
Select the Staff. By default, the name of the Staff who is currently logged in will be pre-populated in this field. If you start typing another Staff (3), a drop down will appear with a list of users.
If applicable, type a Location (4), a Service (5), or a Service Category (6) based on the shortcut you’d like to create.
When different fields are specified, the Link (1) at the top of the Booking Shortcuts menu will change. Refer to the Slugs article for information on how to make your links human readable.
To copy the Booking Shortcut link, click the Copy (2) button on the right of the text box. Paste the link in a new tab on your browser to preview where your clients will be directed.
Note: you can enter either Service (5) or Service Category (6), not both at the same time.
